Banjaras are a semi-nomadic community in India. Since 12th century they are known as traders and transporters of goods with their caravans. Previously embroidered only for personal use in their traditional garments, over the past few decades Banjara women have revived their characteristic stitches, patterns and designs into embroidered consumer products, while providing them with much needed income.
